The 2011 New York International Auto Show is shaping up to be pretty exciting. In an effort to stay ahead of the fray, Fiat has teased its upcoming 500 Cabrio ragtop model ahead of its official release next Thursday.
The power-operated cloth top seems to function in the same manner as the top on some Jeep Liberty models — mainly, the cloth top folds on itself as it travels along a track in the roof rails until it’s completely gathered near the rear spoiler. Fiat says the top can be retracted at speeds up to 60 mph; some convertibles can manage somewhere around 35 mph, but most require that you’re at a complete stop.
The 500c will seat up to four, like the regular 500, and will be available in 14 exterior colors, 12 seat colors and three different soft-top colors — including this nice red featured in the provided photos.
